A pre-wedding photoshoot in Dubai gives you a relaxed, romantic session before the big day, with the skyline, the beach or the desert behind you. The photos work for save-the-dates, wedding invitations and the welcome table. It is also the easiest way to meet your photographer and learn how you look on camera. This guide covers the best pre-wedding locations in Dubai, when to go, what to wear, whether you need permits and how long a typical session takes.

Why book a pre-wedding photoshoot?

Most couples are camera-shy on the wedding day. A pre-wedding shoot lets you practise: you learn what poses feel natural, your photographer learns your good side and your story, and the candid photography that follows on the wedding day looks more relaxed. It is also a chance to capture your love story in places that matter to you, away from the schedule of the ceremony.

The best time for a pre-wedding shoot in Dubai

October to April is the comfortable season, and golden hour, the first hour after sunrise or the last before sunset, gives the softest light. In summer, book a sunrise session or an indoor setting. Our best time for a photoshoot in Dubai guide has the full breakdown.

How long does a pre-wedding shoot take?

Most sessions run 60 to 120 minutes on location. One location with two outfits fits in about an hour. Add a second location, such as the beach followed by the Marina at blue hour, and plan for two hours with travel between the spots.

What to wear

Choose two looks that work together: a flowing dress or gown for the desert or sunset, and a smart outfit for the skyline. Coordinate colours without matching. Keep shoulders and knees covered in heritage areas. Our what to wear for a photoshoot in Dubai guide has more.

Do you need a permit?

A small private session in a public place usually does not need one. Hotels, resorts, some attractions and any drone flights have their own rules, and a larger crew may need permission. Always ask your photographer to confirm before the day, and read photography rules in Dubai. If you hire us, we tell you what each location needs.

Photography, videography and a wedding film

Many couples add a short cinematic film to their pre-wedding photos, a one to two minute clip with music for the reception screen. We can combine photography and videography in one session. See the sample wedding film below and our wedding photography page. A drone shot of the coast needs approval; read our drone permits in Dubai guide.

What affects the price?

Session length, number of locations, edited photos, video and styling all change the quote. See our photoshoot price guide for what to compare in a pre-wedding package, and how to choose a wedding photographer in Dubai if you are still shortlisting.
