Dubai packs a lot into one city: desert dunes, beaches, glass towers, old wind-tower houses and waterfronts lit up at night. That makes choosing a photoshoot location both easy and hard. Here are the best photoshoot locations in Dubai we come back to, what each one suits, whether it is free or paid, and when to go. Think of it as a photography guide to the best photo spots, from the Burj Khalifa to the Dubai Desert.

Desert and nature
1. Al Qudra and the Dubai desert
Red-gold dunes, wide open sky and, if you’re lucky, camels or oryx in the distance. The desert is the classic backdrop for couple, family and fashion shoots, and for flying dress sessions. Go at sunrise or in the last hour before sunset; at midday the light is flat and the sand is too hot. You’ll need a 4×4 or a desert transfer for the best dunes. See our full desert photoshoot guide.
2. Al Qudra Lakes
Small lakes surrounded by trees in the middle of the desert. Good for softer, greener photos and family sessions.
3. Dubai Miracle Garden
Millions of flowers arranged in arches and hearts. Bright and fun for families and couples. It’s open only in the cooler season, roughly October to April, and needs a ticket, so it is one of the paid locations.

Beaches
4. Kite Beach and Jumeirah beaches
Long stretches of sand with the Burj Al Arab in the background. Ideal for families with kids who need space to run. Sunset is beautiful but busy at weekends. Public beaches are free.
5. JBR Beach
Beach on one side, the Marina towers on the other. Good for a mix of beach and city shots in one session.
6. Burj Al Arab views at Jumeirah
The public beach next to the hotel gives you the iconic sail shape behind you, especially at sunset. Nearby, Madinat Jumeirah adds canals, wind towers and abra boats for a more heritage look.
Old Dubai and heritage
7. Al Fahidi Historical Neighbourhood
Sand-coloured walls, wind towers, wooden doors and narrow lanes. Calm, photogenic and great for couples, portraits and fashion. Early morning is quietest.
8. Al Seef
A rebuilt heritage waterfront along Dubai Creek with lanterns and wooden boats. Lovely in the evening when the lights come on.
9. Dubai Creek and the souks
Abra boats, spice and gold souks and the busy creek. Lively backdrops for street-style and lifestyle shoots. Be respectful when other people are in the frame.
Skyline and modern Dubai
10. Downtown Dubai and Burj Khalifa
The Burj Khalifa, the Dubai Fountain, Dubai Mall and Souk Al Bahar. Iconic but crowded; shoot early in the morning for empty walkways.
11. Dubai Marina
Towers, yachts and the marina walk. Best after sunset when the city lights reflect in the water.
12. Dubai Creek Harbour
A newer waterfront with a wide view of the Downtown skyline. Great for sunset couple photos.

13. DIFC and Gate Village
Clean architecture, art galleries and calm courtyards. Popular for corporate portraits and fashion.
14. Alserkal Avenue
Warehouses turned into galleries in Al Quoz. Industrial walls and creative spaces for lifestyle and personal branding shoots.
15. Dubai Frame
A golden frame with views of both old and new Dubai. A good extra stop if you want an Instagrammable place with the skyline behind you.

On the water
16. A yacht around the Marina and Palm
A private yacht gives you the Marina skyline, Atlantis on the Palm Jumeirah and Ain Dubai in one trip. Popular for proposals, birthdays and couple shoots.
When is the best time for a photoshoot in Dubai?
For outdoor shoots, October to April is the most comfortable season. The best light is around sunrise and in the hour before sunset. In summer, book sunrise sessions or choose indoor locations. Read our full guide to the best time for a photoshoot in Dubai.
Do you need a permit to shoot at these locations?
Personal photos in public places are generally fine. Commercial shoots, professional crews, malls, hotels, some attractions and any drone flights may need permission or a fee. Read our guide to photography rules in Dubai before you plan.
How to choose the right location
Think about the feel you want, how far you’re willing to travel, and who’s coming. Toddlers do better at a beach or park than on dunes; a corporate portrait suits DIFC better than the souk. You can combine two nearby spots in one session. If you’re booking with us, we’ll suggest a location and plan the timing for you.
